Transforming the Humble Gourd
by Sioux George

Come and join us at a gourd summer camp! Sioux George will be teaching a class about working with gourds.

Be prepared to clean, cut, dye, paint, drill, weave and embellish gourds.  The goal is to have a finished gourd every day. No experience necessary. Desire to have fun is required. With gourding, one thing leads to another, to another, to another ... its endlessly creative and fun! Supplies included. $30 materials fee payable to instructor.

Sioux George has had an infectious addiction to gourds for eight years. It is highly contagious!

Bryce George will be on hand to assist with technical questions. Bryce taught high school Industrial Arts and Math for 25 years. Woodworking is one of his hobbies that transfers well to gourds. For the last seven years, he has been the “Tool Guy” when gourders ask “How do I do this?”

Other Classes offered this year: Beginning Folk and Classical Guitar, Bookmaking, Creative Papermaking and Mixed Media, Ikebana with Nature, Mosaic Art, Flamework - Glass Beadmaking, Flash Fiction, Landscape Painting in Oil, Dynamic Watercolor, Drawing and Painting from Nature, and Cartoneria - Sculpture with Paper
